DR. CALLIE BROWN CHARLTON
1849 – 1933
Dr. Callie Brown Charlton, retired woman physician who practiced medicine in Portland for many years, died Sunday at 7511 Henry Street. She had been retired for 20 years.
She was born December 8, 1849 at Stephens Point, Wisconsin and came to Oregon with her family in 1856. While she was a young woman she taught school in Portland and later she went to Chicago to study medicine at the Rush Medical College.
Surviving relatives include her daughter, Mrs. Lorena Casey of Portland, and a grand-daughter, Mrs. Irene Tigar, also of Portland. Funeral arrangements are in charge of A. J. Rose & Son.
